| Nottoway and Katrina |
The Nottoway Staff: Thankfully, Nottoway Plantation home escaped hurricane Katrina with no damage at all! All employees are alive and well.
| It was dreadfully hot, as the electricity was not restored until Saturday afternoon after the storm. While we did not suffer any structural damage to any of our buildings, small limbs and leaves covered much of our grounds. |
| We were cleaning up for a couple of days: changing sheets and freshening up our 15 overnight guest rooms, picking up lots of leaves and small limbs on the grounds, removing the plywood from windows, opening up shutters, cleaning our coolers and freezers, etc. We were blessed to not have received any damage to the plantation mansion from Hurricane Rita as well. Just more leaves and limbs covering the grounds and parking lot. |
