Belvedere is located in southern Marin County, California, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, across the bay from San Francisco. The scenic vistas and recreational opportunities draw people from the San Francisco Bay and from afar.

There is daily ferry service from Tiburon to San Francisco for commuters and tourists. Belvedere, population 2,200, is a small and vibrant city with approximately 1,050 households.
